“An Evening With Mozart” concert at SVSU

SVSU, Midland Center for the Arts partner to bring music to the community

Seventy-five choral singers, 19 musicians and four soloists will join together to bring “An Evening With Mozart” to Saginaw Valley State University’s Rhea Miller Recital Hall on Wednesday, April 23, at 7:30 p.m.

The concert features singers and musicians from the Great Lakes Bay Region and beyond:•    Midland Center Chorale

SVSU’s Concert Choir

SVSU’s Cardinal Singers

Chamber orchestra of 19 musicians

Thaddaeus Bourne, baritone, 2022 Latin GRAMMY® Award winning album vocalist (soloist)

Caryn Greco, international performer and assistant professor of music at Wake Forest University (soloist)

Tiffany Wika, mezzo-soprano, performer and music educator at Westdale and Hemmeter elementary schools, Saginaw (soloist)

Matthew Cook, tenor, associate professor of historic preservation and cultural geography at Eastern Michigan University and professional singer

SVSU Assistant Professor of Music Letícia Grützmann will conduct the group, and SVSU Professor Emerita Jane Girdham will offer remarks about Mozart’s life and art during the concert, which is free and open to the public.

This concert is made possible with support from the Midland Center for the Arts and the Dow Visiting Scholars and Artists Endowment at SVSU.
