Our Math department faculty and professional tutors have created some review materials you may find helpful when preparing for the placement test. These are not guaranteed to be an exhaustive list of all possible content. And you may not see every type of question when you take the test. We encourage you to stop by the Math & Physics Learning Center to work with one of our tutors as you review.
MyOpenMath
The free online homework website MyOpenMath has a course of self-study problems with accompanying videos. This sequence begins with Pre-Algebra and ends with Trigonometry. Again, these problems may not perfectly match those on the Accuplacer test, but students have been successful in placing out of developmental classes using the self-study course.
More information on self-study is available here.
SVSU instructors and tutors have also prepared a MyOpenMath review that more closely aligns with material on the Accuplacer exam. You can enroll in that course using the following credentials:
Course ID - 280584
Enrollment Key - SVSUMath
Math Course Descriptions
These course descriptions provided by the Math department may be useful in determining what types of problems and concepts you are already familiar and confident with. They can also help you determine what material you may need to self-study.
