Reception: February 26, 4 – 6 p.m.
Ava Rummler is one of SVSU's newest faculty members, hired as Assistant Professor of Art at Saginaw Valley State University for graphic design in the Fall of 2025. Along side her academic work, she is a graphic designer for the Ad Council, where she contributes to national campaigns that merge creative strategy with meaningful social impact. Her active studio practice, both academic and personal, explores the opportunities for visual communication across a variety of mediums. She invites introspection through the artwork by using these diverse mediums and materials to explore themes of transience and permanence grounded in an experimental, research-driven visual communication. Her foundation in user research continues to shape her approach, informing thoughtful, human-centered design and art making.
Her degrees include a BFA in Graphic Design (UX/UI emphasis) from SVSU and an MFA in Studio Art & Design from the University of Idaho, Moscow.
