Mr. Richard (Dick) J. Garber is the President of Garber Management Group, and the third-generation owner of Garber Buick in Saginaw, MI. He is a lifelong Saginaw resident, and has been an active participant and contributor to numerous community organizations and non-profits in the Great Lakes Bay Region providing leadership, service and financial contributions.
Mr. Garber is currently Chair of the Temple Theatre Foundation, and Saginaw Future, Inc.; President of the Saginaw Society for Crippled Children, and a Board Member of Tri-Star Trust Bank, Covenant Health Care Foundation, the Great Lakes Bay Regional Alliance, and the Saginaw Community Foundation.
Mr. Garber has received numerous honors and awards for his business acumen, philanthropy and community services including the Frank N. Andersen Spirit of Philanthropy Award (2013), the “Celebrated Champion” Award for Philanthropy (2012), Bishop Kenneth E. Untener Cup Award (2011), the Child Advocate of the Year Award (2011), the Corporate Community Service Award (2009), the Greater Coleman Temple World Outreach Campus “Celebrating Legacy 2009” Award, the Outstanding Economic Investment Award (2009), the Northwood University Outstanding Alumni Achievement Award (2009), the Mid-Michigan Children’s Museum Brick (2008), the All Area Arts Award (2008), the NADA (National Automobile Dealers Association) Century Award (2007), the Robert H. Albert Award for Community Service (2007), the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Award (2006), the Excellence in Business Award (2005), the Pinnacle Award (2005), and the Spirit of Saginaw Award (2002).
Mr. Garber’s generosity and commitment have been key to the success of the Garber Cardinal Business Edge program and the development of the next generation of leaders for the Great Lakes Bay Region.
