Data Collection

  • Common Data Set Initiative - The Common Data Set (CDS) initiative is a collaborative effort among data providers in the higher education community and publishers to improve the quality and accuracy of information provided to all involved in a student's transition into higher education, as well as to reduce the reporting burden on data providers.
  • HEIDI - This is the main login page for the State of Michigan's Higher Education data collection center.  If you know the password you can go right in.
  • IPEDS - This is the main web site for the Federal Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS).  Here you can log in to the data collection site, research universities via their College Opportunities On-Line (COOL) Site (designed for college students), and the IPEDS Peer Analysis System for researching and comparison of like institutions.
