The Conference Center at SVSU is host to many conferences, seminars and corporate events and is known for providing the best professional services in the Great Lakes Bay Region.  Serving groups as large as 10,000 to as small as 10.  Whether your event is a few hours or a few days, we are versed in coordinating a multitude of requests and tailoring services to suit your every need. When you schedule your event at SVSU, not only do you have a wide array of elegant and versatile locations to choose from, you also gain access to the latest in audio/video equipment with on-site support prior to and throughout your event. Venues

We offer 15 dedicated venues with various meeting room layouts. The banquet rooms, seminar and the Executive Board Room are located within Curtiss Hall where guests are in close proximity to large meeting rooms, break-out areas and dining services allowing a convenient, effortless flow throughout the event. Banquet Rooms

Our spacious Banquet Rooms (61KB) can adapt to any event. Rooms range from 2,500 to 10,000 square feet and can comfortably accommodate 600-800 guests.  

Seminar Rooms

Our Seminar Rooms (91KB)  range from 1,300 to 5,200 square feet and can accommodate 50 to 400 guests.

Executive Board Room

The Executive Board Room is ideal for a small meeting. Complete with executive-style furniture, this room can seat up to 30 people.

Malcolm Field Theatre for Performing Arts

The Malcolm Field Theatre for Performing Arts (306KB)  has 526 fixed seats, 328 on the main floor and 198 balcony seating.  The theatre is located in the Performing Arts Center, adjacent to The Conference Center at SVSU's Banquet Facilities.

Rhea Miller Recital Hall

The Rhea Miller Recital Hall (319KB)  includes a complete recital stage with sound cloud reflectors and a choir balcony. With a maximum seating of 274, the main floor has fixed seating for 179 guests and the balcony has fixed seating for 95 guests.  The Rhea Miller Recital Hall is located in the Performing Arts Center, adjacent to The Conference Center at SVSU's Banquet Facilities.

The Ott Auditorium

The Ott Auditorium is a state-of-the-art auditorium that accommodates 250 guests and offers an attractive mezzanine adjacent to the venue.  The mezzanine is ideal for vendors, light refreshments or simply a relaxing gathering area.  The Ott Auditorium is located within Gilbertson Hall.

Meeting/Dining Rooms

Within Gilbertson Hall, there are three meetings/dining rooms all equipped with screens and projection systems.  The largest can accommodate 120 guests, the others accommodate up to 40 each. These venues consist of round tables only.

Roberta Allen Reading Room

The Roberta Allen Reading Room located on the 4th floor in Zahnow Library is also a lovely location for a small meeting or reception.  Additional meeting rooms available to serve a variety of needs and tastes.

Classrooms

We offer a range of classroom settings ideal for conference break-out sessions.  For large presentation style needs tiered seating options are recommended -- or if you are seeking a more interactive environment, classrooms with moveable tables and chairs are available. Classrooms can seat 25 to 80 guests and can be offered in several locations throughout campus based upon academic calendar availability.

Computer Labs

Computer Labs range in size from 25-35 seats.  Fully equipped with software, internet and video capabilities and based upon need and academic calendar availability can offered in several locations throughout campus.

Planning Your Event with Professional Coordinators

When you schedule your event with The Conference Center at SVSU we will assist you in planning every aspect to ensure your occasion is perfect. Our Event Coordinators can guide you through the venue and room layout selection, choose menu options to fit within your budget, coordinate décor that sets the mood and atmosphere you are seeking and handle a multitude of media equipment requests.  We provide you with a personal, one-on-one service throughout to ensure all needs are covered and your event is seamless.

Dining

Discover the wide variety of menu possibilities created by our classically trained chefs. From simple menus, themed cuisine to extravagant meals, our team can handle any special requests. We have extensive experience with vegetarian, vegan, and allergy-sensitive needs.

We have a full selection of hospitality services. We provide beverage and bar packages, including non-alcoholic beverages. The University must handle all arrangements for hospitality services. Technology Services

The Conference Center at SVSU is proud to provide state of the art audio/video equipment and on-site professional technical support prior to and during your event to ensure all the small details are covered. A multitude of technology offerings are available such as audience response systems to survey guests during sessions, video conferencing / distance learning labs, in-room data projections systems, teleconferencing and computer training labs.  SVSU also offers business center services for your guest.
