Robert W. Lane, Ph.D.

Robert LaneDr. Lane teaches such classes as The American Political System; Race and the U.S. Political System; American Constitutional Law; and Federal & State Courts. 

In addition to his teaching, Dr. Lane conducts research that primarily focuses upon the Constitutional rights of public school students. He is currently developing two programs of on-line resources that will be used by public school educators.  The first will examine the use of dress codes and school uniforms in public schools; and the second resource program will assist secondary school educators in teaching their students about the Constitution.

Dr. Lane received the House Family Award for Teacher Impact in 2005 (pictured delivering his acceptance speech).  He also serves as the Pre-Law advisor.  

Dr. Lane is the author of Beyond the Schoolhouse Gate: Free Speech and the Inculcation of Values, published by Temple University Press.
 
Dr. Lane earned his Bachelor’s degree at the University of Northern Colorado; his Master’s at the University of Colorado, Denver; and his Ph.D. at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
