The SVSU Cardinal Commitment — Four Years, Tuition Free For Qualifying Students

 

At SVSU, we see your value and we are dedicated to helping you achieve your goals. We believe that the cost of tuition should not prevent you from taking the next step in your academic journey and future career. That’s why we developed the SVSU Cardinal Commitment.

This extensive financial aid package provides four years of free tuition for eligible first-time in college students in Michigan who have a family adjusted gross income of $50,000 or less and meet eligibility criteria.

Do I Qualify?

Family Income: $50,000 or Less

You will qualify for the SVSU Cardinal Commitment if your family’s annual income is $50,000 (AGI) or below.

We can still help!
Although you may not qualify for this program, you may still be eligible for additional scholarships and grants. Over 90% of SVSU students receive scholarship and/or financial assistance other than loans.

Michigan Resident

You must be a Michigan resident, enrolled for the first time Fall 2021 semester.

Completed FAFSA

SVSU's Code: 002314

You must complete and submit your FAFSA.

Full-Time Undergraduate Student

You must be full-time (minimum of 12 credits each) during the Fall and Winter semesters to be eligible.

2 Submit Your FAFSA

A very necessary step you need to do is complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application to verify your income. Use SVSU's code: 002314

3 Enroll

Once you are admitted as a first-time in college student and completed your FASFA, you will receive a Financial Aid Award Letter email notification. If eligible, this award letter will reflect the SVSU Cardinal Commitment.
