Each year students and faculty have the opportunity to hear Michigan authors discuss their writing. This year, alumni authors Jill Bellestri, Dennis Hensley, Joe Hickey, and Roberta Morey will be featured.
Please join us for the 2016 Speaker Panel from 4:00 to 5:00 in Groening Commons, Banquet Room A. The Speaker Panel will be followed by a Meet & Greet and Book Signing in the same room.

The SVSU Open Mic/Coffee House event will be held this year in the Student Activities Room from 9 pm to 12 am. Refreshments will be provided, and participants are eligible for a $75 prize in one of five categories:
* Songs
* Poetry
* YouTube video (on a flash drive)
* Short Story
* Comedy Email echerlac@svsu.edu to pre-register for one of these categories. Late registration is available at the event.
Please note: There is a five-minute time limit on all entries. Only original writing qualifies for a cash prize. There must be at least three entries in a category for a cash prize to be awarded.

The University Writing Committee invites submissions for SVSU’s National Day on Writing online gallery. Writing in any genre is accepted. The submission deadline is October 19th, 2016.
