This writing workshop with Penny Kittle, designed for area K-12 teachers, is scheduled for Monday, July 24, from 1:30-3:30 pm at the Grace A. Dow Memorial Library. (Note: if you are already registered for the Vada B. Dow Writer's Workshop for Area Teachers, you do not need to register for this event).
This workshop will provide area teachers the opportunity to work with author/educator Penny Kittle to learn various techniques to engage students in reading and writing.
Penny Kittle teaches freshman composition at Plymouth State University in New Hampshire. Prior to this, she was a teacher and literacy coach in public schools for 34 years. Penny often travels across the U.S. and Canada, speaking to teachers about empowering students through developing literacy skills. Her publications include 180 Days (with Kelly Gallagher), Write Beside Them, Book Love, and Inside Writing.
The entire cost for the workshop is $35 (including the fee for two SCECHs). You may Register Here.
Penny Kittle will also be giving a public lecture on Monday, July 24, 2023 from 7-8:30 pm at the Grace A. Dow Memorial Library. This event is intended for teachers and parents interesting in developing students' literacy. There is no need to register for this event in advance; it is provided to the public free of charge.
