Community Engagement
The SVSU Writing Center provides free sessions to community members both virtually and on SVSU's campus (in Zahnow 250). Anyone interested in meeting with an SVSU Writing Center tutor may walk in, but to ensure tutors will not already be occupied with another writer, we do recommend booking an appointment below.
In a Writing Center session, writers can talk to a tutor about:
- How to begin working on a document or presentation
- Ways to revise a writing project, such as a resume or short story
- Ideas for further development
To book an appointment:
- Click the "Book an Appointment" button above.
- Select the desired meeting location at the top of the Booking page.
- Select a date, tutor, and time.
- Enter your information, including your email address.
- Click "Book." (You should recieve a confirmation email.)
