No. Visitors, students, and guests are able to park in designated free parking lots and visitor spaces without a permit except during  the times designated on the parking lot signage.  Refer to the Parking Map (409KB) for details.

Yes, overnight visitors are required to obtain a parking permit from Parking Services. The cost of the permit is $5 and the visitor must provide a valid vehicle registration and driver’s license. 

Visitors of resident students are allowed one overnight parking permit valid for 2 consecutive nights every 14 days. First year residents are only allowed overnight visitors Thursday through Saturday nights. Parking regulations posted on parking lot signage should be adhered to based on the SVSU Parking ordinance section 4.6

Upon receiving a housing assignment, students may apply on-line “Manage my Account” for a parking permit (SVSU user name and password required) or complete the process at Housing Check-in. 

Once the online permit application and Housing check-in is complete, the permit will be available for pick-up at University Police & Parking Services located at the corner of Pierce Road and South Entrance Drive.

Yes, you will need to obtain a resident temporary parking permit from Parking Services. The permit is $5 and is valid for up to two weeks. Residents must provide a valid vehicle registration and driver’s license.

Visitors are able to park in any designated visitor or free parking lot without a permit based on the parking lot signage in accordance with SVSU Parking Ordinance section 4.6.  Any vehicle on-campus after the designated times must have a valid permit. Visitors can obtain an overnight parking permit from Parking Services. Visitors must provide a valid vehicle registration and driver’s license. The cost for a permit is $5.

Parking Services offers a Motor Assistance Program. If you accidentally lock your keys in your vehicle, your vehicle has a dead battery, or you need jumper cables, you can request assistance by contacting Parking Services at (989) 964-4141. Parking Services offers this service free of charge. 

Tickets can be paid on-line https://svsu.t2hosted.com/cit/index.aspx or in-person at University Police or Campus Financial Services Center accepting cash, check or money order.
