This series will equip participants to create and support the implementation of trauma informed practices in their own school settings. Participation in all eight sessions is strongly encouraged.
Session 8: Compassion Fatigue and Self-Care
Audience: K-5 Teachers, 6-8 Teachers, 9-12 Teachers, Specials Teachers, Special Education Teachers, Support Staff

SCECH Note: For $10, up to 12.0 SCECHs can be earned for participating in our Creating and Supporting a Trauma Informed School and Classroom series (1.5 for each session).
Participants of our Teacher-Powered Schools, Student-Centered Learning: Sharing Power with Educators, Students, and Communities series will gain knowledge and skills in collective school governance and leadership. Session 4 explores the necessary foundation of all teacher-powered work- trust and collaboration. Participants will explore practices that promote transparency, understanding each team member’s strengths, and ways to manage the inevitable team conflicts.
Note: School teams are encouraged to participate, to discuss ideas together and take them back to their school for implementation.

The first in our Building Bridges for Adolescent Writers series, this session will focus on the urgency of resolving the "literacy cliff" middle and high school students and teachers regularly experience. Through discussion of the research and the associated teaching strategies most likely to prevent the drop-off and instead build skills to address “Unfinished Literacy” participants will (re)discover tools they can put into practice immediately.
Note: The series consists of five sessions. Educators are encouraged to attend every session, but may also sign up for the individual session(s) that best fit their needs and schedule.

Participants of our Teacher-Powered Schools, Student-Centered Learning: Sharing Power with Educators, Students, and Communities series will gain knowledge and skills in collective school governance and leadership. Session 5 focuses on the wide variety of ways to organize a teacher-powered school. Participants will analyze a variety of different teacher-powered organizational charts and discuss how to innovate leadership positions.
Note: School teams are encouraged to participate, to discuss ideas together and take them back to their school for implementation.

This 90-minute webinar is for school staff who are implementing PBIS and some level of substance misuse programming. The session will review how substance misuse programming fits within the context of PBIS and the Interconnected Systems Framework, highlighting the existence of mental health, social-emotional learning, and substance misuse under the umbrella of behavioral health.

How can we design inclusive literacy classrooms that foster trust and community?
Dr. Sarajaneé Davis will talk about creating meaningfully inclusive literacy classrooms. She will share strategies for understanding how teacher identity impacts student learning experiences, analyzing text for bias, and soliciting student feedback. She will also discuss how to process student feedback in ways that are productive and beneficial to building trust and community in the classroom.
There will be time for participants to hear directly from Dr. Davis, time to connect with peers in small groups, and time for questions.
