Eddie is a 2003 SVSU alumnus and received his MSW from Wayne State University. Currently, Eddie is working on his PhD in Education through Central Michigan University. His areas of interest are interpersonal relationships, adjustment issues and substance abuse. Eddie additionally conducts several of the drug and alcohol classes here on campus and is am certified to teach QPR suicide prevention education. During his down time, Eddie enjoys spending time with family, and is a Detroit Tigers fan.
Dana is a 1998 alumna of SVSU and received her MSW from Michigan State University. In August of 2019, Dana received her Level One Trauma Certification from Michigan State University and is currently working on a certification in Cognitive Processing Therapy. Dana’s areas of interest are PTSD, trauma and anxiety disorders. Additionally, Dana is certified to teach QPR suicide prevention education and teaches as an adjunct with the SVSU School of Social Work. In her free time, she loves spending time with my family and traveling.
Sara is a recent graduate of the SVSU Master of Social Work program. Her approach to therapy emphasizes the importance of building rapport and a mutual development of therapeutic goals. She provides a calm, easy-going environment for clients to fully explore and work on various life challenges. Sara utilizes a variety of evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. Her areas of interest include depression, anxiety, self-esteem, stress management, dating violence, and life transitions.
Chelsee completed her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Saginaw Valley State University and continues her education in the MSW program. Chelsee has experience working with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault through interning at the Bay Area Women’s Center and volunteering as a Victim Advocate at the Sexual Assault Center in Saginaw. Chelsee is trained in S-BIRT in identifying substance use disorder and trauma-informed care. Chelsee’s future goal is to work with children and adolescents, as we
Noele is an MSW student at Saginaw Valley State University currently completing her internship at the student counseling center to fulfill her program. She completed her Bachelor of Social Work at SVSU. Noele has experience in brief intervention and substance use disorders. Currently, Noele’s focus is on coping with stress and anxiety by the development of strategies through cognitive and behavioral approaches. She also has experience with sexual assault and intimate partner violence interventions. Noele’s future focus is couple and family therapy.
Gerred is a graduate of the BSW program at Saginaw Valley State University. He is currently a graduate student in the Master of Social Work program at Saginaw Valley State University. Gerred has experience working with individuals with substance use disorders, anxiety conditions as well as depression. He currently has a development plan to complete his Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor credential and has had training in motivational interviewing and dialectical behavioral therapy and mental health first aid.
Jane is currently obtaining her MSW from Saginaw Valley State University. She is a recent graduate from the University’s Bachelor of Social Work program. Jane has experience working with survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence and human trafficking. Jane is a trained sexual assault advocate for the SART team at Child & Family Services of Saginaw and is educated on the dynamics of power and control within relationships. Jane utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy and resiliency theory in her work at the Counseling Center.
