Financial Aid and Scholarships

Advanced Nursing Education Workforce (ANEW) Rural Stipend: Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner post-graduate students may be eligible for an obligation-free $8,000 stipend to offset educational expenses as part of a recent 4-year federal grant. The purpose of this grant is to prepare current nurse practitioners to deliver integrated mental and physical health care within a rural primary care context. Eligible applicants must reside or work in rural communities, with a preference to those working in primary care who are under-represented in nursing. Applicants to the PMHNP program will be prompted to apply for the stipend during the PMHNP program application process. Approximately 25 stipends will be awarded annually.

Loan Forgiveness Programs

Due to the overwhelming need for qualified practitioners, there are several federal loan forgiveness programs for certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner's. This certificate also qualifies for Federal Student Loans.
