A parent, at wit's end, seeking the treatment and counseling necessary to save their child's life. The need is urgent in communities large and small across the state. Saginaw Valley State University's Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner post-graduate certificate program is designed to prepare current primary care nurse practitioners to meet that need. Classes are 100% online and in a part-time format, providing working professionals the flexibility they need.
This program expands the scope of practice for primary care nurse practitioners to provide integrated mental health and addiction care across the lifespan in acute and primary care settings.

- Recovery Pathways, Michigan’s only mobile clinic designed to improve access to medication-assisted treatment for substance use disorders in rural communities
- Community members in long-term recovery participate in optional on-campus skills training, bringing realism to substance use disorder simulations
