Membership Benefits

  • Monthly Meetings
    Monthly meetings are free to members. These meetings are generally held on the second Wednesday of the month at SVSU from 8:45 - 11:30 a.m.  Each meeting features a speaker, refreshments and snacks. The meetings are held to encourage fellowship, and to give members an opportunity to get acquainted with participants from other classes.  Learn more

  • Newsletters & Emails
    The Adventurer, our monthly newsletter outlines the classes offered by OLLI and other learning and 
    entertainment opportunities the University offers including concerts, plays and lectures. The current newsletter also includes information about international educational travel opportunities, interest group news, letter from the president, class updates & more. We also offer bi-monthly email updates to keep our members better informed.

  • Interest Groups
    Our interest groups, led by OLLI members bring together members with similar interests. Our current groups include: lunch, dinner, theatre, bridge, cross country skiing, bicycling, photography, writing, knitting, gardening and Buddhism.  Learn more
  • Ryder Center Discount  
    We are pleased to be able to offer all current OLLI members a reduced annual membership rate of $100 for usage of the Ryder Center at SVSU. (The regular senior member rate is $200 annually). The membership allows you to use the facilities during recreation hours. Ryder Center Hours: vary depending upon the time of year. Check with the Ryder Center for the current hours. Also, areas of the Ryder Center may closed due to University classes or varsity practices. Contact the Ryder Center to join at 964-7333.
  • Free student parking in front of Curtiss Hall
    Parking available in Lot J1 or J2

  • Use of the SVSU Melvin J. Zahnow Library, bookstore and food court.
  •  Invitations to "members only" special events.

  • Audit a SVSU Class
    Attend any SVSU class with the professor's permission for only $200. Stop by the University Cashier's Office's (first floor of Wicks Hall) for a listeners' Permit. Or you can find a form on the Cashier's website. Go here for permit.SVSU Listener's Permit (73kB)
