Admission Requirements

The Nursing Program in the College of Health and Human Services at Saginaw Valley State University is competitive and we do NOT have a wait list. An applicant must have a minimum GPA in the science/ math nursing prerequisite courses of 2.8 and an overall GPA of 2.8 to apply. As stated in the SVSU catalog, the other factors in determining admission are the communication scores (written and oral- interview and writing sample for students who do not have SVSU scores for written communication) and number of credits completed at SVSU.

The nursing program conducts a two step admission process. Students invited to interview will be notified after the application deadline. Students will be notified via their SVSU email accounts of interview times and dates as well as application decisions.
