SVSU students to compete in 2025 Miss Michigan pageant

Saginaw Valley State University will be well represented in the 2025 Miss Michigan competition, June 12-14 in Muskegon. Three women with ties to SVSU are among the 22 Miss Michigan contestants who will compete for scholarships and the chance to represent the state in the Miss America pageant.

SVSU cheer reaches new heights at NCA nationals

The Saginaw Valley cheer team made program history, earning a second-place finish in the D2 Intermediate Small Coed Division at the 2025 NCA College Nationals, stepping up from their third-place finish in the same category in 2024. The 2025 competition was held April 9-13 in Daytona Beach, Florida. This is the highest finish for SVSU since the program began competing at nationals seven years ago.

For the third consecutive year, Saginaw Valley State University students placed third at the Michigan Intercollegiate Speech League State Championship Tournament, which took place on Saturday, March 1, at Eastern Michigan University.

SVSU students talk their way to 3rd place in speech competition

In their first year of collegiate competitive speech, six Saginaw Valley State University students have proven themselves up to the challenge, earning a third-place finish in the Michigan Intercollegiate Speech League Novice State Championship Tournament. Seven colleges competed at the event, which took place at Northwood University on Saturday, Feb. 15.
