Campus Housing

Residence Halls will re-open on Friday, January 15, at 8 a.m. Please check your SVSU e-mail account for check-in details. Re-entry into the Residence Halls will not be permitted once students check out prior to Thanksgiving break or at the end of the fall semester.

Unless otherwise notified, residential students will return to their originally assigned housing unit for the winter 2021 semester.

As with during the fall semester, students will follow their Advanced Plan if they test positive for or are exposed to COVID-19.

Limited space is available for isolation on campus, but if a student must quarantine on campus, they will work with Residential Life to do so. Visit this link for information on isolating on campus or quarantining off campus

Isolation units: What is provided?

Residential Life staff will assign students who must isolate on campus to an isolation unit alone or with other students who have tested positive. The staff members will unlock the isolation unit and observe entry.

All students who must isolate on campus will be provided with a supply pack that includes:

  • Linens
  • Toilet paper
  • Cleaning supplies
  • Basic toiletries and light snacks
  • Dining services menu

Arrangements will be made for mail delivery, trash removal and meal and supply delivery.

A member of the Residential Life staff or one of SVSU’s contact tracers will contact the student each day for a health check-in. The staff member or contact tracer will make three attempts to reach the student; after the third attempt, an ambulance will be called.
