In response to potential COVID-19 disruptions, SVSU developed the Cardinal NEST Plan, which offers us the flexibility to adapt to changing demands for your health and safety — today and tomorrow, in classrooms and dining halls, and among friends and faculty alike.
Masks MUST BE WORN in classrooms and labs.
Masks are OPTIONAL in auditoriums (Ott, Malcolm Field Theatre, Rhea Miller Recital Hall, e.g.) and Zahnow Library. Some events with visiting speakers or performers may require masks to be worn, given prior agreements; the audience will be informed in these instances.
Masks are NOT required for all other indoor spaces on-campus. This applies to all faculty, staff, students and visitors, regardless of vaccination status.
Individuals who may feel more comfortable wearing a mask should always feel free to do so, and we will continue to make masks available.
View Face Covering Policy and Guidance
Masks will NO LONGER BE REQUIRED in any campus setting, including classes and labs. Anyone who chooses to wear a mask should feel comfortable doing so, and we all should be respectful of our colleagues and classmates.
We will continue to monitor health conditions and remain in regular communication with Covenant HealthCare and others, and we are prepared to make additional adjustments, as necessary.
We encourage everyone who is vaccinated to get their booster shot as soon as they are eligible. Students, faculty and staff can upload their proof of a booster shot below.
Report Your COVID-19 Booster Status
If you need to submit your primary COVID-19 Vaccination / Testing Status, please use one of these links: STUDENTS or FACULTY & STAFF
On-campus COVID-19 testing is available to all members of the campus community, and we continue to strongly encourage testing for unvaccinated individuals, but it is not required.
Testing requirements will remain in effect where necessary, such as for NCAA student-athletes and Athletics staff, students with clinical placements, and the like.
If you are experiencing symptoms, please call the Covenant hotline and alert our NEST team.
