Angelica is a fifth-year, Social Work major from Saginaw, Michigan. Along with working in the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs as the Lead Student Program Coordinator, Angelica has participated in Femxle Empowerment and Multicultural Education (F.E.M.E.) for 4 years, and Latino Awareness Association (LAA) for 2 years. She can be quoted saying, "I enjoy working here as diversity brings out the positive attitudes among faculty and students. Our programs and events create different images, mapping and developing their mind to bring about change in our institution. We have fun educating students throughout our many history and heritage months uniting all students and promoting inclusivity."
Abbey is a 1st-year graduate student in the advanced standing, Master of Social Work program at SVSU. She graduated from SVSU in May 2021 with her Bachelor's in Social Work with Cum Laude honors. In her undergraduate years, Abbey was involved with RHA, Alpha Sigma Alpha, SSWO, and NSLS. Her favorite part about working for the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs and LGBTQ+ Programs and Services is her ability to engage with SVSU community members and watch them grow as students, individuals, and professionals.
Kaliyah is a 1st year Molecular and Cell Biology student with the goal of becoming a Dentist. She has coordinated the 2022 calendar for Black History Month and assists with other celebratory months activities. Kaliyah enjoys getting Starbucks on campus, collaborating with RSO's on campus, and helping students achieve their programming ideas.
Evangeline is a dual major in Communications and Spanish at SVSU. She involved in the PSA program as a coach, Vice President of the Competitive Speech Team, Vice President of Latino Awareness Association (LAA), and Choreographer and Co-Founder of Hip-Hop Club at SVSU. Evangeline enjoys hosting Loteria nights on campus, eating funyuns, and sharing her culture with other students.
Sammyra is a double major in Spanish and Public Administration with a minor in Criminal Justice at SVSU. She is involved on campus as President of Latino Awareness Association (LAA), and Secretary of Hip-Hop Club. Her favorite part of working at the Multicultural Student Center is the opportunity for professional growth and ability to work with an amazing team of leaders.
