Summer SMEKplus Camps

The Science and Mathematics Extravaganza for Kids (SMEKplus) summer camps, sponsored by the Regional Mathematics and Science Center, are designed to involve area students, grades 2-8, in engaging, age appropriate science, technology, engineering, and mathematics enrichment activities. SMEK has been offered here at SVSU for over 20 years. Past activities include building a trebuchet, designing cardboard boats that must race across the pool in Ryder Center, engineering bubble wands, studying organisms from our very own wetlands, LEGO robotics, constructing a mini golf course, and more!

Students participating in this year's 3-day camps will experience hands-on, project-based lessons taught by area certified teachers and assisted by SVSU undergraduates aspiring to become teachers, as well as enjoy lunch in Marketplace at Doan.

Thank you for your interest in SMEK camps! In the interest of everyone's safety and to support university efforts to prepare for the safe return of students, faculty, and staff this fall, we will not be hosting SMEK camps this summer. We will truly miss seeing all of our campers and look forward to having you here next year!
