The Jason Liddell Scholarship was established in 1995 with a gift from Burger King Corporation in recognition of Mr. Liddell’s selection as one of the nation’s outstanding scholar athletes.
Jason Liddell was a four-year member of the SVSU football team, serving as captain during the 1995 season. He graduated in 1995 with a degree in accounting.
As an SVSU student-athlete, Jason achieved exemplary levels of performance in the intercollegiate football program and demonstrated a high level of scholastic achievement, good citizenship and leadership potential.
The scholarship is awarded to SVSU football players who have demonstrated a high level of scholastic achievement, good citizenship and leadership potential.
• Full-time student
• Member of SVSU’s intercollegiate football team
• Junior or senior status (62 credits or more)
• Cumulative GPA of at least 3.25
• Good citizenship, evidenced by a commitment to community service and demonstrated leadership potential
The amount of the scholarship award is intended to provide for the payment of tuition and fees, limited by the full payment of those amounts. The director of athletics will select the recipient in consultation with the head football coach and the director of scholarships and student financial aid. Financial need is not to be used as a consideration in the selection process.
The Office of Scholarships and Student Financial Aid will disburse the awards according to regular university fiscal procedures.
