Jeffrey Sexsmith Memorial Scholarship

The Jeffrey Sexsmith Memorial Scholarship was established by Mr. Sexsmith’s friends and family in 1994 to honor his memory and his achievements in the game of golf. Proceeds from annual golf outings helped build the fund to provide more scholarship opportunities for SVSU student golfers.

Jeffrey Sexsmith was a member of the SVSU Golf Team in 1973 and 1974. He won two long drive contests, including the 1973 Michigan State University Invitational. Mr. Sexsmith was All Conference (GLIAC) in 1973, and was on the SVSU golf team when they first qualified for the NAIA National Tournament (1974) and placed 14th in Aberdeen, South Dakota. His two-year scoring average was 79.2. At the time of his death at the age of 40 in 1990, Mr. Sexsmith was a sales representative for Champion Motor Homes.
