The Saginaw Valley State University community, along with regional partners and friends, celebrated the successful completion of the "First for Business" campaign and the dedication of the Scott L. Carmona College of Business with private and public open houses, ribbon-cutting ceremony and a formal dedication. The events capped off an ambitious fundraising campaign for the $25 million building expansion project.
Individuals and businesses demonstrated their commitment to investing in SVSU students and the Great Lakes Bay Region, committing more than $15.5 million in private funds to the expansion project.
The Carmona College of Business is named for Scott L. Carmona '81, whose family pledged the lead gift to the "First for Business" campaign. The 38,500-square-foot facility, equipped with state-of-the-art technology, will open for regular use in the fall of 2020.
