SVSU fosters global engagement through study abroad opportunities and international partnerships that connect students, faculty and staff to communities around the world.
In 2013, SVSU received a significant grant from Dow Chemical Foundation to establish the Dow Science and Sustainability Education Center to improve middle/high school education in STEM fields. One of its programs is a mobile laboratory that visits K-12 schools to increase interest in and understanding of science. Another grant was awarded by Dow Corning Foundation to work with regional K-12 teachers to develop coursework and community-based learning projects geared toward STEM-based studies. [More . . . ]
