The Center for Community Writing operates two community writing centers housed in the Saginaw and Bay counties, open to all people in the Great Lakes Bay Region. These writing centers are staffed by trained SVSU tutors and offer free writing workshops and one-on-one feedback to area writers. We can help you write a college application essay, create an effective resume and cover letter, craft a short story or poem—or help develop any other type of writing you might do. We are proud to operate the first two university-sponsored community writing centers in the state of Michigan, supported by funding from the Bay and the Saginaw Area Community Foundations and SVSU.
The Bay Community Writing Center, located at the Wirt Library (500 Center Ave, Bay City) is open the first and third Tuesday of every month, from 4-8 pm.
The Saginaw Community Writing Center, located at the Butman-Fish Library (1704 Hancock St, Saginaw), is open the second and fourth Tuesday of every month, from 4-8 pm.
