 Julia Roecker Exhibit postcard

July 7 - August 13, 2014

This exhibition is a collection of works by Saginaw artist Julia Roecker (1887-1988).  Formerly a professor of Art at Alma College and director of the Saginaw Art Museum, Ms. Roecker devoted much of her creative energy to drawing and printmaking.  Her images came from nature, plants, animals and the life around her.  As a painter and printmaker she experimented with many styles from traditional scene painting to near abstraction.  She worked in oils, pastels, watercolor, relief printing, silkscreen and etching.   This exhibit includes traditional work in the area of linocut and woodblock prints as well as experimental works involving silkscreen and monoprinting.

All exhibits and receptions are free and open to the public.
