Books & Technology

Students granted an accommodation must order college textbooks in electronic or audio format, if available.  More and more publishers are providing books in audio or electronic formats. Not all formats are compatible, students need to be sure they have the correct equipment and/or software for the material that they've ordered. Some online entities may require a membership fee.

If an electronic version is found, ARA encourages students to explore means of accessible text readers using, but not limited to the following sites:

 

If the student is unable to locate accessible material through the Saginaw Valley State University Bookstore or outside sources, the student can then contact ARA though the AIM system for assistance. Students are responsible for requesting all accessible materials for class two months prior to the start of the semester the material is needed.
