Spanish Major for Teacher Certification (BA)


Saginaw Valley State University’s Spanish Major and Minor for Teacher Certification is built for those who thrive on the engaging experiences that language provides. Learn about different cultures, explore new worlds, and master the ability to teach students about them. With faculty support, take part in original research and strengthen your knowledge. SVSU encourages students to take the opportunity to travel internationally or study abroad!

Cardinal Points

  • Students are equipped with Sony / Sans Virtuoso Major and solo software for their media center and language laboratory.

  • Students may study abroad in various Spanish-speaking countries worldwide (including Countries in Europe, Africa and Asia).

Through a comprehensive study of culture, history, reading, writing, and speech, SVSU’s Spanish Major for Teacher Certification ensures that students will be able to master the Spanish language. Students are also exposed to the classroom early on in their college career so when they graduate, they are prepared for their own classroom.
