Physics Major for Teacher Certification (BS)


Saginaw Valley State University's Physics Major for Teacher Certification challenges students to embrace the complexity of the physical world. From Newton's laws of motion to the laws of thermodynamics, explore the different subject matter that physics has to offer. Make new discoveries with opportunities to participate in research in the physics lab. Learn how to foster students' understanding of physics. With support from the Physics and Middle/Secondary & Educational Leadership Departments, students are well on their way to mastering their own classrooms.

SVSU's Physics Major for Teacher Certification develops a knowledge base in chemistry, math and physics. Upper-division students can choose to take courses in topics such as thermodynamics, electricity, magnetism and optics. Students also have several classroom opportunities to prepare them for teaching.
