French Major for Teacher Certification (BA)


Saginaw Valley State University's French Major for Teacher Certification brings together culture and language. The immersive language experience is explored through speech, written dialogue and classes abroad. Students have many opportunities to improve their language skills through conversation hours and the comprehensive language lab. Faculty support brings unique experiences to the classroom through technological resources, multimedia and online tools.  

Cardinal Points

  • Students are equipped with Sony / Sans Virtuoso Major and solo software for their media center and language laboratory.

  • Students of SVSU may study abroad in countries in Europe, Africa and Asia for short or long term sessions.

SVSU's French Major for Teacher Certification combines history, culture and language for a comprehensive experience. Students have the chance to explore both French and Canadian culture in addition to working on their oral communication skills.
