In the Communication and Theatre Major for Teacher Certification, students will immerse themselves in the performing arts and oral communication theories. Combined with classroom preparation and teaching experiences, students are well-prepared to face any classroom challenge.
Communication is a vital piece of our lives whether through speech, presentation, or performance. SVSU’s Communication and Theatre Major for Teacher Certification is built for students with interests in both of these subjects. In this program, you will receive support from three departments as you grow. Whether you love the dramatization of the theater or the authority of speaking with confidence, you will be able to customize your experiences, picking classes that suit your interests while learning foundational knowledge in both content areas.
Students have the opportunity to participate in speech and interpretative events on campus and at other colleges and universities.
SVSU offers students the opportunity to join Alpha Psi Omega, an honor society for students performing at a higher standard of work in dramatics.
