Athletic Coaching Minor

About

The Saginaw Valley State University's athletic coaching minor program will acquire the required skills and characteristics to become a good coach and role model for an athlete. You will be on the fast track to making an impact in the world of sports with courses aimed at different events, injury prevention, physical fitness, and more. This minor is open to any SVSU major and is intended to help prepare students generally to coach sport in the community.

  • The Department of Kinesiology has world-class facilities, which include SVSU’s Ryder Center, athletic training facilities, and many more.

  • Athletic Training students can study abroad for short or long term sessions in countries across Europe, Africa and Asia.

SVSU's Athletic Training Major (B.S.) program is a rigorous and intense program that places specific requirements and demands on the students enrolled in the program. An objective of this program is to prepare graduates to enter a variety of employment settings and to render care to a wide spectrum of individuals engaged in physical activity.
