About

Accountants translate the numerical world and all of its intricacies to society at large. They are a driving force in helping companies run efficiently and realize growth by projecting assets and liabilities, providing auditing services and discovering ways to reduce costs, enhance revenues and improve profits. SVSU's accounting program prepares students to arrange, examine and communicate in the language of financial records. Students learn to apply their knowledge by specializing in assurance services, risk management or even industry. At SVSU, students receive an education from one of the top five percent of business schools worldwide—that’s partly why SVSU accounting graduates enjoy nearly 100 percent job placement. Accounting is challenging and engaging as students learn the intricacies of becoming both a business advisor and an information specialist through courses such as Executive Strategies and Policies, International Accounting, Management Information Systems and so much more. SVSU's accounting program dares students to dream beyond the books, whether they aspire to serve as CFO for a Fortune 500 company or become the executive director for Amnesty International—as a Cardinal, they are ready to soar.
