The Web Operations (WebOps) Department is responsible for overall design, development, content management and functionality of the SVSU website (www.svsu.edu) and the MySVSU (my.SVSU.edu) intranet environment.
SVSU.edu is an essential marketing media and academic resource of the university. Its mission is to serve as the virtual gateway to the university and advance the mission, brand and reputation through dynamic, actionable and accessible content. The main intended audience for svsu.edu is an external one. Therefore, it focuses primarily on reaching prospective students, parents, and other populations seen as “external” to the institution. We strive to deliver messages and content to a primarily off-campus audience with a strong focus on marketing.
My.svsu.edu is designed to serve as an internal hub, providing relevant academic and administrative communication and resources that engages and enhances collaboration, productivity and operational efficiencies for SVSU students, faculty and staff.
The Web Operations team works very closely with University Communications (UCOMM) to ensure that branding standards, messaging and institutional mission are always upheld and delivered. Social media is intricately linked to the SVSU web presence, and its coordination lies in University Communications. WebOps also works very closely with Web Technologies (IT) to deliver user-friendly solutions to complicated web-based challenges.
