My name is Ron Trepkowski and I want to welcome you to the University Police website. The Saginaw Valley State University Police works in partnership with the entire university community to maintain a safe and secure campus. In addition to traditional police services, our department offers a wide variety of services, such as speaking to student groups and coordinating crime prevention efforts. We hope this webpage is useful in providing more detailed information on campus safety and the services we provide.

SVSU is a great place to live and work. Our officers are well educated and very motivated to keep SVSU a safe community. When you are on the south side of campus, stop by our office and say Hi. I have worked for the University Police Department for 23 years. Prior to joining the department I was employed at Bay Regional Medical Center as a Security Officer. I was also a member of the Bay City Police Reserves where I obtained the rank of Deputy Chief.

I obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in 1983, and a Master’s Degree in 1993, both from S.V.S.U. I teach women's self defense class as a credit class and as a seminar class. I was the first certified RAD instructor in the State of Michigan and have been teaching RAD since 1994. I hold numerous training and advanced training certificates in various police related areas. I am the University Police firearms instructor and have participated in pistol competitions in the State.

My primary responsibilities include supervising the day shift patrol and detective officers. I am the special events coordinator and one of two Crime Scene Technicians.

I began my career as a police officer with the SVSU Police Department in January of 2008. Prior to that I was with the Bay City Police Department for twenty-five years and retired as Deputy Chief of Police. I consider it a privilege to work with, and for the students, staff and faculty of SVSU as my second career. I am fortunate to once again have the opportunity to perform many of the duties that originally attracted me to a career in law enforcement.

I received an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from Delta College in 1982 and was hired by the Bay City Police Department in 1983. I am a graduate of the Northeastern Police Academy. I received a Bachelor of Applied Science in Criminal Justice from Siena Heights University in 2007 and was recently admitted into the Master of Master of Administration Sciences (MAS) at SVSU 2008.

I currently serve as the Board of Directors President of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Bay County. I am also a Board of Directors member of the East Shoreline Chapter of the American Red Cross and and active member of the Bay City Lions Club.

I have been married to my wife, Sue, for 22 years. We have a 17 year old son and a 15 year old daughter.

I received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Ferris State University in 1999 and my Masters of Arts Degree in Administraive Science from SVSU in 2008. I gained prior police experience with the Bay City and Gaylord Police Departments before joining the University Police at SVSU in 2002.

My current duties include patrol, criminal incident investigation, motor vehicle code enforcement, and the selection, training, and supervision of the department's student employees. Additionally, I am a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician, Rape Agression Defense (RAD) Instructor, and Field Training Officer (F.T.O.)

I started working for the department in the fall of 2005. I have an additional 3 years of law enforcement experience that I gained working for the Tittabawassee Township Police Department.

I graduated from Northeastern Police Academy, and also received my Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from Delta College in 2003. I am currently working on obtaining my Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice here at SVSU.

I started working for the department in the spring of 2007. I graduated from Saginaw Valley State University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice. While enrolled at SVSU I also was a five year participant on the Cardinal football team.

I have worked in law enforcement for the Harbor Beach Police Department, and also was a volunteer Fire-Fighter with the Saginaw Township Fire Department until 2006.

I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from SVSU and graduated from the Delta College Police Academy in the spring of 2008. It is a great opportunity to work in an environment like the one we have here on campus, and I am glad to be able to give back to an institution that has given me so much through my education. I earned my Juris Doctor degree from Wayne State University Law School in May 2007. I am currently a member of the State Bar of Michigan. I also received my bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from SVSU in 2004. During my time at SVSU, I was a proud member of the Varsity Softball team.

I was recently hired to the SVSU Police Department in August 2008. I am excited to be a campus police officer and excited to be working at SVSU. I look forward to being a part of the campus community once again.

I graduated from Saginaw Valley State University in 2007 with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Finance.  In May of 2007, I graduated from the Delta College Police Academy.  I gained experience as a part time Officer working for the St. Louis Police Department and Lakeview Police Department in 2007.  I am the newest officer at SVSU University Police being hired in September 2008.

I have been a part time SVSU police officer for approximately eight years. I currently teach criminal justice/law enforcement at the Bay-Arenac Career Center. Prior to my teaching position I worked for the Bay City Police Department. I have a BA in History from SVSU.   I will receive a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership August, 2009.  SVSU has been a strong influence on my life since I first walked onto campus, first as a student starting in 1988, and now as an officer continuing to serve the SVSU family. My career at SVSU began in the Controller’s Office in 1985 as a Senior Accounting Clerk. I have been a staff member of the University Police since 1986.

I serve as the Resources Supervisor and manage the department’s capital equipment and facilities, human resources functions, payroll, budgets and accounts, crime statistics, evidence and property, technology and webpage administrator.

I have attained a Master of Arts, Bachelor of Business Administration, and Associate in Computer Science degrees.

I have been with SVSU University Police in Parking Services since 1986. The university has grown considerably over the last 20+ years from 3500 to nearly 10,000 enrolled students and 500 to 2500 on-campus residents. The responsibilities as Parking & Student Employment Services Coordinator has grown as has the university. I coordinate and train employees in the area of police dispatch, citation and permit computer software and hear on-campus appeals before the violation would be forwarded to the 70th District Court in Saginaw County. I feel fortunate to supervise 20 conscientious student employees who are a necessity and an asset to overall operation of the department. Many of them are pursuing a career in the criminal justice field.

I began working for the SVSU Police Department in the fall of 2006 as a student employee. I became a regular part-time dispatcher in the summer of 2008.

I am currently working towards receiving my Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.), majoring in International Business at SVSU. I will obtain my degree in the summer of 2009.

My duties include police dispatching, issuing permits, and handling citation payments, along with several other duties.

I started with SVSU in the summer of 2008. I am from the Upper Peninsula-yes, a Yooper. I graduated from Northern Michigan University where I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in psychology. I then moved to Detroit where I started with the Auburn Hills Police Department. I was a Police Service Officer for 7 years. I was a 911 Operator and a L.E.I.N. Operator, as well as doing non-criminal duties on the road. I worked many events at the Palace in Auburn Hills conducting traffic and parking enforcement. I left Auburn Hills to relocate north with my family. I have two young sons and we enjoy sports, as well as taking care of horses. I first gained an interest in police work when I helped at the Oscoda Township Police Department in high school as an office worker for two years.  After I started my undergraduate career at SVSU in 2005, I worked as a student employee for over three years at the university's police department. Recently, I was hired as a part-time dispatcher where I am primarily responsible for dispatching on-campus calls, selling parking permits and providing assistance to the campus community.

I will receive a Bachelor of Arts in August 2009 from SVSU, majoring in Political Science and History. I look forward to begin working towards a Master of Arts/Administrative Science in 2010.
