SVSU has the lowest tuition and fees cost of Michigan's 15 public universities.
The following information provides some insight into the cost of an education at Saginaw Valley State University. Please use this as a guide to more accurately determine your costs.

- Tuition is based on a $194.40 per credit hour rate for Michigan residents taking undergraduate courses.
- A General Service Fee of $10.45 and technology fee of $3.75 is assessed to each credit hour taken.
- Costs shown reflect a 14 credit hour schedule.
- Students on average take between 12 and 15 credits each semester.
- A pace of 15 or 16 credits per semester is required to complete most degrees in four years.

Resident Hall students should also plan for miscellaneous items not included in general educational costs. It is recommended to add $200 to $300 per semester for incidentals, such as snacks, gas, toiletries, movies, laundry, supplies, and other personal expense.
First Year Suites Room and Board rates for the 2007-2008 academic year

19 Meals per week + $100 per semester=$3,315
Provides approximately 285 meals at the all you care to eat facility plus $100 in the declining balance account to use at the other on campus dining facilities for the semester.
13 Meals per week + $200 per semester=$3,165
Provides approximately 195 meals at the all you care to eat facility plus $200 in the declining balance account to use at the other on campus dining facilities for the semester.
10 Meals per week + $425 per semester=$3,315
Provides approximately 150 meals at the all you care to eat facility plus $425 in the declining balance account to use at the other on campus dining facilities for the semester.

- The RFoC facility provides home style entrees, grilled foods, pizza, deli sandwiches as well as a soup and salad bar.
- Regional Education Center's Apple Slice provides soups, deli sandwiches and salads.
- Einstein's Eatery houses the retail food court.
Housing rates for the 2007-2008 academic year
- Prices are based on room only.
- Several meal plan options are available for an additional cost (see above).

- To qualify for apartment residency, students must be 21 years of age or have completed 48 credit hours.

- Double/Triple Efficiency: $1,875.00
- Single Bedroom: $2,200.00
UNIVERSITY VILLAGE for the 2007-2008 academic year (per semester)
- Single Bedroom: $2,315.00
- Single Efficiency: $2,650.00
Full-time status is at least 12 credit hours. Most full-time students take 12-16 credit hours per semester. To graduate in four years, students must complete 31 credit hours a year.
