Scholarship Eligibility Value How to Apply

Horizon Award: Awarded annually to qualifying Canadian students.

Canadian students who possess a 75% average or higher throughout high school automatically qualify for this award.

Canadian Admissions - Home of the Horizon

Qualify automatically upon admission to SVSU.

Presidential Scholarships: Granted to qualifying students on the basis of mid-graduation year standing. Letter of verification required.

Graduating high school seniors who rank first or second in their class. Must have minimum 80% average and SAT score of 1100 or ACT composite score of 24 or higher.

Covers tuition and fees for a four-year baccalaureate degree. Renewable by maintaining 3.50 GPA as full time SVSU student**.

Awards are based on admission to SVSU and confirmation from high school official of rank in class.

Dean's Scholarship: Granted to first year students on the basis of academic and extra-curricular achievement.

Graduating high school seniors who demonstrate excellence in academic pursuits and talent in specific areas. Must have SAT score of 1200 or ACT composite of 24.

$3,000 per year. Renewable for up to four academic years by maintaining minimum 3.00 GPA as full-time SVSU student.**

Awards are made based on admission to SVSU and confirmation of eligibility criteria.

University Scholarship: Awarded annually to qualifying SVSU first year students.

Graduating high school seniors who have distinguished themselves through exceptional academic achievements. Must have 80% average or better and acceptable SAT or ACT score.

$1300 per year*. Renewable for four years by maintaining a minimum 3.00 GPA as a full-time SVSU student.**

Awards are made based on admission to SVSU and confirmation of eligibility criteria. Award made by Admissions Office.

SVSU Athletic Grants: Awards to outstanding individuals on the basis of ability.

SVSU competes at the NCAA Division ll level.

Music Scholarship

Students enrolled in the music curriculum.

Students need to audition. If selected, students may qualify for up to and including a full tuition scholarship.
