Undergraduate Research Program

The SVSU Undergraduate Research Program (UGRP) supports the university’s value in academic exploration and achievement by providing opportunities for our undergraduate students to participate in hands on research experiences in a variety of unique and meaningful ways. The program funds four distinct research grants including: UGRP faculty-led grant, UGRP student-led grant, UGRP student-travel grant, and UGRP mini student-led grant. Funding for the UGRP grants creates an environment for students to succeed by providing students the ability to: work closely with faculty mentors, earn an hourly wage to conduct research, receive financial support for travel to present research, and share findings in a university-wide SVSU Student Showcase.  Students involved in the UGRP also participate in professional development workshops to enhance their research/presentation skills, gain knowledge of effective research practices, and network with fellow undergraduate researchers.

The UGRP integrates the University's teaching and research missions through the creation
and facilitation of faculty/student research partnerships. Select from the appropriate picture
