No one ever said college was easy!

At Saginaw Valley State University, we are committed to providing you with the support you need to be successful. To serve you, we offer a range of programs and services designed to help you meet your educational goals. When you need help with a class, we encourage you to see your professor during office hours or by appointment. But if you need additional help, we offer academic tutoring services that provide personalized attention and assistance. Many of these services are available on a drop in basis, and all are offered at no cost to students.

  • Biology & Chemistry

    The Chemistry/Biology Tutoring Center offers free tutoring services on a drop-in basis for 100-level, 230, and 330 Chemistry and 100-level and 231 Biology.

  • Computer Science

    The CSIS Tutoring Center offers free tutoring services on a drop-in basis for CS107, CS105, CS101, CS110, CS146, CS116, CS160, CS216, CIS255, CS245, and CS280.

  • Math & Physics


    Walk-in tutoring support for students in MATH 081 - MATH 262 and PHYS 106-212.

  • Technology

    Student Technology Center
    The Student Technology Center provides students with the training and individualized assistance to become successful users of technology in their academic course work.

  • TAP (Tutoring for Academic Progress)

    The Tutoring for Academic Progress (TAP) Center offers free professional tutoring services by reservation and on a drop-in basis for HIST 100 (B, C, D & E), PSYC 100, COMM 105, ECON 125, SOC 111 & SOC 112.

  • Writing


    The Writing Center assists both undergraduate and graduate students with all types of writing tasks and assignments.
