Faculty Issues Advisory Committee
Mission Statement
The Faculty/Staff Development and Incentives Action Team's primary mission is to facilitate the use of technology and recognize those who use technology in the classroom to increase student learning.
Goals and Objectives
- Identify and reward the exemplary use of technology in the classroom by faculty and staff.
- Facilitate the appropriate use of new and novel technology in the classroom
- Create incentives for the appropriate use of technology in the classroom
Strategies for Implementation
- Hold Action Team meetings to work towards achieving the above objectives
- Solicit nominations, select recipient, and coordinate the presentation of the Technology in Teaching Award (Fall semester)
- Investigate methods used by other colleges and universities to provide incentives for the use of technology in the classroom
- Work with other Action Teams to create a learning environment that facilitates and rewards the appropriate use of technology
- Regularly report to the TLTR Steering Committee

Criteria for Annual Teaching and Learning with Technology Award
The Faculty/Staff member chosen demonstrates creative and novel approaches involving the use of technology to enhance student learning.
Award Criteria: Recipients are expected to:
- be full or part-time SVSU faculty and staff members
- use technology in ways that excel in meeting the goals of departmental and/or college programs at SVSU.
- integrate relevant technology into teaching methods to enhance student learning in SVSU classrooms..
- demonstrate leadership by introducing previously unused technology into departmental and/or college programs or by encouraging colleagues to use technology in their teaching methods

- Please describe how you use technology in your courses or programs
- How long and in how many courses or programs have you employed this technology?
- Please describe how the integration of technology has enhanced student learning in your courses or programs. All forms of support and documentation are considered valuable. Examples include your own observations, student comments, or formal evaluation outcomes.
- Please describe ways that your use of technology has inspired your colleagues to:
a. initiate or increase use of technology in their classes or programs and/or
b. enhance overall technology use in your department or college program
