Construction of Founders Hall started after an April groundbreaking
ceremony. The 5,500-square-foot facility is expected to cost $1.5
million, up from the original estimate of $900,000. It is intended
to be used for weddings, memorial services, forums, debates, musical
recitals and lectures.
Nearly
2,000 people contributed $315,674 to the university in 1995.
