February 2017 Student of the Month

Written by Alantae Christian

Davion Williams is a first year student at Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU) majoring in Criminal Justice and minoring in Accounting. He attended Chandler Park Academy in Harper Woods, Michigan. Not only did Davion choose SVSU because of the Public School Academy Scholarship, but because he felt that it was a good for him due to all of the resources the University provides.

So far, Davion has experienced a lot here at SVSU. One of his best Public School Academy memories was the PSA Transition Camp he attended. Transition was a great way to start off his college career, seeing as though it did a lot to actually prepare him for college. Not only has Davion had good experiences with the Public School Academy, but SVSU as a whole. His best experience as a Cardinal was his first ride around campus.

Being in college has helped Davion a lot. It has caused him to mature in many ways and set goals for himself. In five years, Davion sees himself working at a high level in the police force. He plans on working in the police force two years and then he sees himself as an FBI Agent. If Davion had one piece of advice to give to his ten-year-old self, he would say, "Take advantage of the high school academics and start learning time management skills early."
