This training helps educators understand how trauma and stress interfere with cognitive skills and how classroom and school activities can be used to restore feelings of safety, empowerment, and well-being.

Student Thinking? Is it Possible? - February 25, 2019 & May 6, 2019

What do we want from our students? Do we want them just to complete work, or do we want them to deeply think and engage in the curriculum? If you want your students to deeply think and engage, how do we accomplish this? The use of rich tasks and questioning that gets students to think, discuss, and engage are possible. This professional development opportunity will give you several ways to deepen your level of questioning, actively engage your students, and get you closer to a classroom rich with potential and possibilities.
This is a two-day training, participants should plan to attend both dates.

Special Education Unpacked - March 15, 2019

This workshop is designed to provide all educators with a general understanding and historical perspective of special education services, including terminology, major federal laws, special education laws and civil rights laws, different disabilities, and the IEP process. It will provide the various systems for delivering educational services that include inclusion and continuum of services to meet the unique needs of this population. Various tools and resources that are available for teachers will be discussed. Upon completion you will have an awareness of how special education services impact and serve the students taught in various settings.
