This is a in-depth class session that educates students about the myths and facts regarding marijuana.

team at San Diego State University which includes
social norms information

In person class that is three hours for one session

Allows students to engage in a group discussion about myths

Student review specific marijuana laws for their state
C.A.N.S. (Cardinals Avoiding Negative Situations)
This program was developed for students who have empty cans in residence halls. This is a very brief introduction about alcohol and some of the negative situations that can come from drinking alcohol.
Course Includes:

In person class that is one hour

Students engage in a group discussion of the desirable and undesirable effects of alcohol

Helps students make better, safer decisions regarding alcohol
Choices Alcohol Class
Is a brief alcohol abuse prevention and harm reduction program and is for our first offense alcohol violations on campus or students that are low risk drinkers.
Course Includes:

In person two session class that is a total of three hours

Interactive journaling is done during this class and is an important agent of personal change

Informs students of the difference between high risk drinking and low risk drinking

Group discussions on misperception of college drinking

Helps students make better, safer decisions regarding alcohol.

Provides students with options and alternatives.
Basics Alcohol Class
This program is for students that score high risk on the alcohol assessment or receive a Minor in Possession Charge (MIP).
Course Includes:

One individualized session with a professional counselor who goes over your personal assessment that was completed.

What is your relationship with alcohol?

What role does alcohol play in your life?

Blood Alcohol Concentration and what it means at different levels.

One group appointment which usually consist of 10 to 15 students
