Academic and Leadership Development

The purpose of the Academic and Leadership Development committee is to promote a quality education and encourage leadership and a strong student voice at SVSU. Committee activities this year include academic integrity posters, putting together a program to promote leadership within academic colleges, writing a student honor code, and bringing in David Callahan, author of "A Cheating Culture," to speak.

The ALD Committee meets every Wednesday at 8pm in the SA Office.

Allocations

Student Association budgets money each year to help registered student organizations, individual students, and students traveling abroad secure extra funding. The Allocations Committee helps these different students and groups through the process. There are three different types of allocations available through SA. Request forms for each allocation can be found under the "Important Documents" section of the website.

The Allocations Committee meets every Tuesday at 1pm in the SA Office.

The committee's external responsibility is participation in the activities of the Association of Michigan Universities. The committee also seeks ways of engaging students in political activities. Some past activities include: Participation in Constitution Day and Table Talks. This spring, we will engage in the AMU letter writing campaign to encourage more higher education funding from the state.

Organization Resources and Communications

The role of the Organization Resources and Communications Committee is to serve registered student organizations on campus. ORC provides workshops to help each organization, as well as opportunities for organizations to network with each other. This year each SA representative serves as a liaison to a few organizations. In the role as liaison, they help each registered student organization keep in touch with SA, each other, and aware of campus happenings. We also have added an outstanding organization allocation to be awarded to an organization twice per semester.

The ORC Committee meets Tuesdays at 8:30pm in the SA Office.
