Grants.gov is your source to FIND and APPLY for federal government grants. There are over 1,000 grant programs offered by all federal agencies.
Find Grant Opportunities
The Department of Health and Human Services is the managing partner for Grants.gov, and allows access to the 26 federal grant-making agencies available through this convenient E-Government initiative.
There are four methods of searching Grants.gov for grants:
- Basic Search - Search by keyword, Funding Opportunity Number or Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) number.
- Browse by Agency - Search from a list of agencies offering grant opportunities.
- Browse by Category - Search by a variety of categories of funding activities.
- Advanced Search - Search by more specific criteria such as funding instrument type, or sub-agency.
Grants.gov features the ability to download a grant application package and then view and complete it offline, giving the grant community the flexibility to complete grant applications when and where they want. It also enable them to easily route it through their organization for review, or completion of various components.
Your Sponsored Programs office is a registered user of Grants.gov and is able to fully utilize the system for submitting proposals.

Financing is available through a competitive proposal process for Life Sciences, Advanced Automotive Technologies and Homeland Security companies and researchers.

Executive Order 12372, "Intergovernmental Review of Federal Programs," was issued with the desire to foster the intergovernmental partnership and strengthen federalism by relying on State and local processes for the coordination and review of proposed Federal financial assistance and direct Federal development. The order allows each State to designate an entity to perform this function.
