PARKING VIOLATION APPEAL PROCESS
Individuals who have received a parking ticket for violation of SVSU ordinances may appeal the citation to the Parking Services Coordinator at the SVSU Department of University Police. Appeals may be initiated by contacting the Parking Services Coordinator in person, by representative or by telephone no later than 10 calendar days from the issuance date of the ticket.
Upon receipt of an appeal, the Parking Services Coordinator may ask for information which would substantiate the reason(s) for the appeal. The Parking Services Coordinator may discuss this information and any other related circumstances with the issuing officer and/or the Chief of University Police. The Parking Services Coordinator/University Police is the only University department authorized to grant an appeal.
If an appeal is denied, you may pay the fine for the citation at the Cashier's Office or at Parking Services. If you refuse to pay the fine, the violation will be forwarded to the 70th District Court of Saginaw County. The Court may increase the fine and add court costs.
